SoRSoW Lab of the Department of Social Work, HMU actively participated in the successful 3rd Plenary Session of SUNRISE Project Concludes in Bilbao, Spain

 

The 3rd plenary session of the SUNRISE project convened from January 20-21, 2025

in Bilbao, Spain, marking a pivotal gathering hosted by Osakidetza and Bio-Bizkaia. The

event brought together esteemed partners from across Europe to assess the initial

outcomes of the project’s first year, focusing on innovative approaches to foster long

term health behavior change among adolescents.

The meeting served as a platform for comprehensive discussions on the project’s

progress, emphasizing the development and implementation of digital intervention tools

tailored to diverse socio-economic, cultural, and environmental backgrounds of

adolescents. The project activities organized the first year, brought together participants

such as: educators, adolescents, parents, public health experts, and policy-makers,

each contributing valuable insights into shaping effective strategies.

Key highlights from the session included presentations on survey findings, co-creation

activities, and comparative analyses of partner countries’ approaches to digital

intervention tools. The unveiling of demos and progress updates on these tools

underscored their potential impact in promoting sustainable health behaviors and

raising awareness for cancer prevention among young populations.

The fruitful two-day session concluded with concrete recommendations and outlined

next steps to ensure the project’s objectives are met successfully. This milestone not

only strengthens partnerships but also reaffirms commitment to advancing youth health

across Europe.
