The Department of Social Work was founded in 1973 and belongs to the School of Health Sciences of the Hellenic Mediterranean University. Throughout its many years of operation, it has significantly contributed to the acquisition of valuable experience and knowledge in the field of Social Work.

The Curriculum of the Department offers:
- specialization in the field of Social Work through relevant courses.
- an interdisciplinary approach to Social Work with courses in other scientific fields relevant to Social Work.
- internship that prepares students to apply the theoretical knowledge in practice, and this is what differentiates the curriculum of the Department from those of other related schools and faculties.
The Department has a European and international perspective through academic exchange programs for both student and professors and educational and research collaborations with European and international networks.
